Upon choosing classes during my sophomore year of high school, I decided it would be fun to take Studio Art I. In this class, we had many different assignments, but my favorite one was when we had to depict our favorite image of the Virgin Mary. Because of my Cuban-American heritage, I naturally chose La Virgen de la Caridad, the patron saint of Cuba. Later in the year, my teacher submitted this image into a school contest, and my image of Mary was selected to be published in the 2018 version of Our Lady of Lourdes Academy's magazine, The Literati.
